Upcoming Books

The following books are under contract and are in preparation:

Green Planet Green Planet, to be published by Rutgers University Press February 28, 2009.  This book explains, with factual passion, how plants keep the Earth alive: they produce all the oxygen in the air, regulate the greenhouse effect by removing carbon dioxide from the air, create cool shade, allow water to penetrate the soil, prevent floods and mudslides and soil erosion, produce all the food in the world, create soil, create natural habitats and restore them after natural disasters, and have influenced the course of human history.  Stan explains why we need to protect not just plants in general, but as many species of plants as possible.
