A bird eating a parasite from a giant tortoise

One of the greatest products of evolution is mutualism. On one of the Galapagos Islands, a bird eats a parasite off of a giant tortoise. This is mutually beneficial for both the bird and the tortoise (but not for the parasite). Photograph by Stanley A. Rice. Appears in Encyclopedia of Biodiversity (Facts on File).
